Privacy policy

1. Introduction

DashSim, available at dashboardsimulator.com, is committed to protecting user privacy. This policy explains which data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

By using our service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data controller

The data controller is DashSim, reachable at: [email protected].

3. Collected data

We collect the following data:

3.1 User-provided data

  • Email address: during account creation (email or Google sign-in).
  • Password: hashed and securely stored (email login only).

3.2 Usage-generated data

  • Access type: chosen plan (24h or lifetime) and expiration date when applicable.
  • Simulation data: simulator inputs (fictional store name, fictional numbers, etc.) are processed locally in your browser and are not stored on our servers.

3.3 Payment data

Payment details (card number, etc.) are processed directly by Stripe and never pass through our servers. We only receive payment confirmation and transaction ID.

3.4 Technical data

  • Strictly necessary cookies and local storage for operation (session, authentication).
  • ds_country cookie (30 days): approximate country derived from your IP address by our hosting provider, used to show prices in your currency.
  • dashsim_anon_id (12 months) and dashsim_aff_attr_token (30 days) cookies: set only if you arrive through an affiliate partner's link, to credit them with any purchase.
  • Functional cookies from Chatway support widget.

3.5 Analytics and advertising

To measure site traffic and the effectiveness of our ads, we use the following tools. They set cookies and collect browsing data (pages viewed, device and browser, IP address, referring site or ad):

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google): traffic statistics (_ga cookies).
  • Google Ads (Google): conversion measurement for our ad campaigns and, where applicable, building advertising audiences (cookies such as _gcl_au).
  • TikTok Pixel and TikTok Events API (TikTok): measuring and optimizing our ads on TikTok (cookies such as _ttp). The data sent covers pages viewed, offers viewed, checkouts started and purchases (product, amount, currency). When you make a purchase, your email address and account ID are also sent in hashed form (SHA-256), from your browser and from our servers.
  • YouTube (Google): presentation videos embedded on some pages load from youtube.com, which may set its own cookies as soon as the page is displayed.

Google and TikTok process this data under their own policies: Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from sites that use its services, TikTok Privacy Policy.

3.6 Refusing or limiting these cookies

You can refuse or limit these cookies at any time, without affecting your access to DashSim:

Blocking the strictly necessary cookies and local storage, however, may prevent you from signing in to your account.

4. Processing purposes

Your data is used to:

  • Create and manage your user account.
  • Provide access according to your purchased plan.
  • Process payments through Stripe.
  • Contact you when needed (support, service-critical notifications).
  • Improve the service and fix potential issues.
  • Measure site traffic and the effectiveness of our ad campaigns (Google, TikTok).
  • Credit our affiliate partners for purchases made through their link.

5. Legal basis

Data processing relies on:

  • Contract performance: your data is required to provide the subscribed service.
  • Legitimate interest: service improvement, fraud prevention, support through the chat widget, audience measurement, measuring the effectiveness of our ads and crediting sales to our affiliate partners.

6. Data sharing

Your personal data is never sold. It is shared only with the following providers, to deliver the service and to measure site traffic and the effectiveness of our ads:

  • Supabase (database hosting and authentication) — servers in Europe.
  • Stripe (payment processing) — PCI-DSS compliant.
  • Vercel (website hosting) — global infrastructure.
  • Chatway (support chat widget) — home page only.
  • Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, embedded YouTube videos, Google sign-in) — analytics, advertising, video playback and authentication.
  • TikTok (TikTok Pixel and Events API) — measuring and optimizing our ads.
  • Resend or Postmark (sending emails related to your account and to the contact form).

7. Retention period

  • Account data: kept while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days after account deletion.
  • Payment data: transaction records are kept for the legal period of 10 years (accounting obligations).
  • Simulation data: not stored (local browser processing).
  • Cookies: see 3.4 for our own cookies; for Google (including YouTube) and TikTok cookies, durations are set by those companies in their policies (see 3.5).

8. Data security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Password hashing (bcrypt via Supabase Auth).
  • Restricted data access through security policies (Row Level Security).
  • No bank card data is stored on our servers.

9. International transfers

Some providers, including Vercel, Stripe, Google, TikTok, Resend and Postmark, may process data outside the European Union. These transfers are framed by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent recognized mechanisms.

10. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your data.
  • Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, readable format.
  • Right to object: object to processing of your data.
  • Right to restriction: request limitation of processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

11. Minors

DashSim is intended for adults. If you are a minor, you must obtain consent from your legal guardian before using the service.

12. Policy changes

We may update this privacy policy. Any update is published on this page with a refreshed date. In case of substantial changes, users will be informed by email.
